No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would make several changes relative to the progressive sanctions program for juvenile offenders. The bill would remove the requirement that a court or probation department state written reasons for deviation from the progressive sanction guidelines. The bill would make changes to sanction levels three, four, and five. The bill would also remove the responsibility of the Criminal Justice Policy Council to monitor compliance with the progressive sanctions guidelines.
