No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 142.0015, Local Government Code, to restrict the number of hours a police officer in a certain municipality can be required to work during a calendar week. The bill would take effect September 1, 2003.

The City of Dallas police department is the only department to which the criteria of the bill would apply. Therefore, the proposed changes would apply to that department only.


Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
