LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 3, 2003

TO:
Honorable Kenny Marchant, Chair, House Committee on State Affairs

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB945 by King (Relating to parental consent to abortion.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Under the provisions of the bill, the Department of Health (TDH) indicates the agency would need to update the TDH website, amend the physician certification form, and modify certain agency rules. TDH indicates the agency would not incur any significant fiscal impact in implementing the bill's provisions.  It is assumed that TDH would absorb any additional costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill within the agency's existing resources.

The Office of Court Administration, the Board of Examiners and the Supreme Court of Texas have indicated no fiscal implications associated with this bill.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
