HB956 by Isett (Relating to the liability of certain charitable organizations.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would broaden the immunity afforded volunteers of charitable organizations whose actions result in death, damage, or injury.  The bill would also extend immunity from civil liability to any volunteer of a charitable organization, give volunteers immunity from civil liability if they were acting in good faith and operating within the scope of their duties, and gives a volunteer immunity from civil liability in providing healthcare to a minor if the minor’s parent or legal guardian is given certain written disclosures.
