LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 18, 2003

TO:
Honorable Harold V. Dutton, Jr., Chair, House Committee on Juvenile Justice & Family Issues

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB993 by Wilson (Relating to a proceeding to vacate an order of paternity or child support.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would provide for a mechanism for a court to vacate an order of paternity or child support. The Office of the Attorney General anticipates increased workloads as a result of this proposal; the new workload, however, could be reasonably absorbed under existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
