HB1027 by Hupp (Relating to the confidentiality of crime victim information.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill amends Subsections (a) and (d) and adds subsection (f) to Section 552.132 of the Government Code to allow governmental employees who are victims of crime to elect whether to allow public access to personally identifying information, including photographs or other visual representations, held by the Office of the Attorney General or other governmental bodies.  The employee (or guardian in some instances) would be required to make a written election, sign a form developed by the governmental body, and submit such within specified time frames. 

The bill takes effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all members of each house; otherwise it takes effect on September 1, 2003.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
