No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend procedures related to use of records of reports of criminal activity. The provisions of the bill would also provide immunity from civil liability for persons acting in good faith in reporting criminal activity and persons acting in the scope of their duties or functions in reporting criminal activity. The bill would take effect September 1, 2003 and apply only to causes filed on or after that date regardless of when the alleged wrongful conduct that lead to the civil action took place.
