HB1053 by Rodriguez (Relating to the confidentiality of social security numbers in certain circumstances.), Committee Report 2nd House, As Amended

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code to provide for the confidentiality of social security numbers in certain circumstances.  The bill would not apply to governmental bodies, except for those in the judicial branch in certain circumstances. 

The bill would take effect on September 1, 2003.


Local Government Impact

According to the Office of Court Administration, the bill would not appear to require a change in current practice in district or county-level courts, thus no fiscal implication to local government is anticipated.
