LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

February 26, 2003

TO:
Honorable Anna Mowery, Chair, House Committee on Land & Resource Management

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1129 by Farrar (Relating to the types of restrictions that may be enforced by certain municipalities.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would expand on the definition of "restriction" of land use for the purposes of enforcement by and authority of a municipality with a population of 1.5 million or more. The bill would take effect September 1, 2003.

The City of Houston is the only city that has a population of more than 1.5 million.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
