No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Article 42.09, Code of Criminal Procedure, to require that a copy of any detainer that has been placed on a defendant be included in the pen packet accompanying the defendant from county jail to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. The bill would take effect September 1, 2003 and apply only to defendants transferred from county jail on or after that date.

According to various sheriff's offices contacted, there would be no fiscal impact as a result of the provisions of the bill.
