No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would authorize the court's designee to discharge a prospective juror or postpone the prospective juror's service. The bill would take effect September 1, 2003 and would apply only to persons summoned to appear for jury service on or after that date.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
