No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would add a new chapter to the Business & Commerce Code prohibiting the transmission of certain commercial electronic mail messages or the sale or provision of selected electronic mail addresses. The bill would establish criminal penalties, civil penalties, and civil liability for violators.
