LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 29, 2003

TO:
Honorable Tom Craddick, Speaker of the House, House of Representatives

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1326 by Martinez Fischer (Relating to the civil and criminal consequences of racing a motor vehicle on a public highway or street and of being a spectator at an illegal motor vehicle racing event; providing penalties.), As Passed 2nd House

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code as it relates to the civil and criminal consequences of racing a motor vehicle on a public highway or street and of being a spectator at an illegal motor vehicle racing event.  Although there are costs and revenue gain associated with the bill, it is estimated they would be minimal.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
