FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 17, 2003

TO:
Honorable Joe Driver, Chair, House Committee on Law Enforcement

FROM:

IN RE:
HB1326 by Martinez Fischer (Relating to the civil and criminal consequences of racing a motor vehicle on a public highway or street and of being a spectator at an illegal motor vehicle racing event; providing penalties.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code as it relates to the civil and criminal consequences of racing a motor vehicle on a public highway or street and of being a spectator at an illegal motor vehicle racing event.  Although there are costs and revenue gain associated with the bill, it is estimated they would be minimal.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
