LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 4, 2003

TO:
Honorable Kenneth Armbrister, Chair, Senate Committee on Natural Resources

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1378 by Geren (Relating to certain duties and information regarding water development matters in the state.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would change references from the Development Fund Manager at the Texas Water Development Board to the Executive Adminstrator. It also deletes requirements that regional planning groups provide information on water pipelines and other facilities to the Water Development Board. It would also eliminate several reporting requirements. The bill also would allow landowners to request that information collected through field investigations by the executive administrator for use in the development of groundwater availability models be kept confidential.

None of these provisions are expected to have significant fiscal implications to the agency.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
