No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend Section 158.037, Local Government Code, to allow a sheriff to appeal in a district court a decision by a civil service commission to reverse or modify the demotion, suspension, or removal of an employee. The bill would take effect September 1, 2003.
