TO: | Honorable Tom Craddick, Speaker of the House, House of Representatives |
FROM: | John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board |
IN RE: | HB1420 by Hardcastle (Relating to the use of a portion of medical school tuition for student loan repayment assistance for physicians.), As Passed 2nd House |
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would expand the current two percent tuition set-aside for loan repayments to include non-resident tuition. This would result in an additional $196,815 of tuition set-aside for loan repayments at the eight health-related institutions, which collect tuition, and a re-distribution of General Revenue formula funding.
