Honorable Will Hartnett, Chair, House Committee on Judicial Affairs
FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB1473 by Hartnett (Relating to probate matters.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
This bill would repeal the requirement that any cause of action appertaining to estates shall be brought in a statutory probate court rather than in a district court when both courts have concurrent jurisdiction. This might increase the caseload of district courts and decrease the caseload of local probate courts, but is not expected to have a significant impact.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
