No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would remove the population bracket from current statute to allow an incorporated city or town located in more than one county to hold a local option election for the sale of alcoholic beverages. The election would be conducted by the city or town instead of the county. An action contesting the election would be brought in the district court of any county in which the city or town is located. The bill would take effect September 1, 2003.
