No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Government Code, Chapter 54 relating to associate judges for statutory probate courts. The bill would change the title of a judicial officer currently designated as a probate master to associate judge. The bill would remove a provision relating to parties providing written consent before a probate master may conduct a trial on the merits of the probate case.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2003.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
