IN RE:
HB1648 by Morrison (Relating to standing for certain foster parents to file suit to adopt a child.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would shorten the amount of time in which a foster parent may file for adoption of a child for whom the foster parent is providing care. Under the proposal, the foster parent may file for adoption at any time after the child is approved for adoption. The bill would apply to suits filed on or after September 1, 2003. The Department of Protective and Regulatory Services indicates no significant fiscal impact.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
