IN RE:	HB1699 by Kuempel (Relating to the liability of highway, road, and street contractors.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would relieve a highway contractor of liability for torts arising from construction or repair if the contractor was in substantial compliance with all contract documents for construction, repair or maintenance.

The Department of Transportation indicates the bill would not have a cost to the state.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
