HB1719 by Goodman (Relating to allowing a school board to conduct certain team building sessions in a closed meeting.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code.  Under the bill, a school board would not be required to conduct an open meeting to deliberate in a team building session required by rule of the State Board of Education unless a member of the school board requests that the team building session occur in an open meeting.

 

The bill would take effect immediately upon receiving a two-thirds majority vote in both houses; otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2003.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
