LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 30, 2003

TO:
Honorable Mike Krusee, Chair, House Committee on Transportation

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1732 by Hamric (Relating to the use of toll projects by military vehicles; creating an offense.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Based on the analysis of the Texas Department of Transportation, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.  TxDOT also anticipates that revenue losses realized from military vehicles and personnel, from states other than Texas, not paying toll fees would be insignificant.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2003.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
