HB1760 by Hilderbran (Relating to the exercise of eminent domain power by a municipality or supplier of water for a municipality to acquire a municipal water supply.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would establish exceptions to when a municipality or supplier of water for a municiality may exercise powers of eminent domain. Additionally, the exception would apply to a corporation in counties with a population of less than 3.3 million, which would be all counties except Harris County.

The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds in each house; otherwise, it would take effect September 1, 2003.
