LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 12, 2003

TO:
Honorable Jane Nelson, Chair, Senate Committee on Health & Human Services

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1886 by Zedler (Relating to the assessment of fees for the regulation of code enforcement officers.), As Engrossed

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Section 1952.052, Occupations Code, to allow the Texas Board of Health at the Department of Health to set fees in amounts that are necessary to cover the cost of regulating Code Enforcement Officers.

The Department of Health indicated that, since the current licensing fees covered the costs of operating the program in fiscal year 2002, they would not amend their rules to raise the fees at this time.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
