IN RE:	HB1890 by Morrison (Relating to tuition rebates to certain undergraduate students who graduate from an institution of higher education without excessive semester credit hours.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the number of Credit By Examination (CBE) semester credit hours that are counted toward the cap established to qualify for a tuition rebate, so that only CBE hours in excess of nine semester credit hours would apply toward the cap.

Based on a survey done by the Higher Education Coordinating Board to determine the number of students denied a tuition rebate from excessive CBE hours applied to the cap, it is determined that the fiscal implication of this bill is less than $25,000 a year for each year of the biennium.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
