LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 8, 2003

TO:
Honorable Kenny Marchant, Chair, House Committee on State Affairs

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1904 by Farrar (Relating to the transfer of certain state property and the granting of certain state easements from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and the Department of Public Safety of the State of Texas to the City of Houston.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would transfer a communications tower from the Department of Criminal Justice and the Department of Public Safety to the City of Houston, who would be required to use the property for a purpose that benefits the public interest of the state. The bill would not have a significant affect on the operations of state government.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
