LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 10, 2003

TO:
Honorable Jaime Capelo, Chair, House Committee on Public Health

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB1920 by Capelo (Relating to certain immunization programs.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Department of Health (TDH) to develop continuing education programs for providers related to immunizations and the vaccines for children program. The bill would require the Health and Human Services Commission to ensure a provider can enroll in the vaccines for children program on the same form the provider completes to apply as a Medicaid provider. The bill would allow providers to report vaccines administered under the vaccines for children program to the immunization registry and to use the registry as provided by law. TDH indicates no significant impact.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
