No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would allow an employee of or volunteer with a law enforcement agency, who has completed a criminal background check, to assist law enforcement officers or juvenile probation officers with temporary care of children until other custodial arrangements can be made. The Department of Public Safety and the Department of Protective and Regulatory Services indicate no significant impact.
