John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB2013 by Quintanilla (Relating to admission and enrollment of certain children attending public schools.), As Engrossed
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill has no direct fiscal implications for the Foundation School Program (FSP) or the operations of the Texas Education Agency. However, if districts deny admission to a student under this authorization, the cost of the FSP (approximately $5,800 per student in average daily attendance) could be reduced as a result of lower attendance.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. A district's decision to deny admission to students would result in a reduction in attendance, which would cause a decrease in state aid of about $5,800 per student in average daily attendance lost.
