No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would provide for notice concerning an unexpired disciplinary action to follow a student who enrolls in another school or district.  The bill would grant the receiving school or district the authority either to continue the disciplinary action or to place the student in regular classes.  The bill would repeal Section 37.008(j), Education Code which currently provides this authority with respect to placements in disciplinary alternative education programs.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
