No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code to add to the requirements that must be met by a person to serve as a municipal court judge that the person have served as a judge of a court in Texas for four or more years preceding the appointment as municipal court judge. The bill would take effect September 1, 2003.
