The bill amends the Election Code by providing for automatic recounts in certain majority vote elections. Based on the analysis of the Secretary of State, no fiscal impact to the state is anticipated.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.Denton, Fort Bend, Guadalupe, Harris, Tom Green, and Victoria counties reported that although they would incur some costs, those costs would not represent a significant portion of their overall budget.
