IN RE:	HB2199 by Solomons (relating to the right of an insurance carrier to contest the compensability of an injury in a workers' compensation case; providing an administrative violation. ), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill amends the Labor Code regarding a workers' compensation insurance carrier's duty to pay or deny benefits promptly.  The Texas Workers' Compensation Commission indicates some costs may be associated with implementation of the bill.  It is assumed that any costs associated with the implementation of the bill could be absorbed with current resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
