FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2205 by Hilderbran (Relating to procedures for obtaining a permit to hold certain gatherings.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code as it relates to the procedures for obtaining a permit to hold certain gatherings and would amend the Local Government Code as it relates to obtaining permits for holding events in certain facilities. The bill would take effect September 1, 2003 and apply only to a permit for which an application is filed on or after that date.

The additional procedures would affect the county health authority, county fire marshal, county sheriff, county judge, and municipalities. Responses from a sampling of each indicated that there would be no significant fiscal impact.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
