The Board of Nurse Examiners indicates it would cost $39 per new license application to perform Department of Public Safety and Federal Bureau of Investigation background checks. The agency anticipates 9,250 new applicants in fiscal year 2004 and 9,450 new applicants in fiscal year 2005, with a 1.5 percent increase in the number of applicants each year thereafter.
It is assumed the Board of Nurse Examiners would adjust fees to offset any costs associated with the implementation of the bill.
