No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Transportation Code relating to removal and storage of unauthorized vehicles on certain parking facilities and violations committed by parking facility owners and towing companies. A political subdivision would be required to revoke the license or permit issued to a towing company if the towing company is convicted of an offense under Section 684.085(b), Transportation Code. The bill would take effect September 1, 2003 and apply only to conduct that occurs or an offense that is committed on or after that date.
