LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 12, 2003

TO:
Honorable Robert Duncan, Chair, Senate Committee on Jurisprudence

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2341 by Kolkhorst (Relating to the duties of the district attorney in Washington and Burleson counties.), As Engrossed

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the district attorney serving the 21st judicial district in Washington and Burleson counties to also serve the 335th district court in those same counties. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a two-thirds vote in each house; otherwise, it would take effect September 1, 2003.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
