TO: | Honorable Carlos Uresti, Chair, House Committee on Human Services |
FROM: | John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board |
IN RE: | HB2373 by Phillips (Relating to license fees for certain nursing and convalescent homes.), As Introduced |
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would exempt veterans homes from trustee fund assessments. The Department of Human Services (DHS) indicated that there are 4 veterans homes each with 160 beds. DHS estimated that with the current trustee fund assessment of $12 per bed the reduction in revenue accruing to the trustee fund within the Comptroller of Public Accounts would be $7,680 per year.
