No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code, Title 4 relating to the Uniform Correction or Clarification of Defamation Act. The bill would apply to any claim for relief for damages arising out of harm to personal reputation caused by the false content of a publication. The bill would take effect September 1, 2003.
