LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 21, 2003

TO:
Honorable Frank Corte, Chair, House Committee on Defense Affairs and State-Federal Relations

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2400 by Noriega (Relating to military leave and military leave time accounts for certain municipal fire fighters and police officers.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Subchapter G, Chapter 143, Local Government Code, which, except as otherwise noted in that subchapter, applies to a municipality with a population over 1.5 million. Currently, the City of Houston is the only municipality to which that population bracket applies.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
