FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB2481 by Uresti (Relating to excluding certain income in calculating child support and spousal maintenance.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
Relative to calculations of child support or spousal maintenance, the bill would provide that a spouse's monthly income or resources for determining child support liability do not include hostile fire or imminent danger pay, the overseas basic allowance for housing, or the family separation basic allowance for housing received by a member of the United States armed forces. The bill would be effective on September 1, 2003 and apply to orders rendered on or after that date. The Office of the Attorney General indicates that there would be no significant impact on its workload.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
