No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code and the Code of Criminal Procedures relating to a penalty of not less than 100 hours of community service for certain persons convicted of littering or illegal dumping. The bill would require the community service to be performed by picking up litter from roads, streets, or highways maintained by the state. The bill would take effect September 1, 2003.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
