IN RE: | HB2529 by Madden (Relating to providing a grace period for enforcement actions against a small water supply, sewer, wastewater treatment, or solid waste disposal service being integrated into a regional service.), As Engrossed |
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would prevent the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality from initiating an enforcement action against a water supply, sewer, wastewater treatment, or solid waste disposal service operated by or for a municipality or county that is being integrated into a respective regional system unless the commission has allowed the regional service 36 months to bring the integrated facility into compliance, and the regional service fails to bring the integrated facility into compliance within that time.
