HB2658 by Farabee (Relating to grants to counties for indigent criminal defense.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Government Code, Chapter 71 relating to grants to counties for indigent defense.  The bill would provide for formula grants to be distributed to counties without the necessity of additional applications or reports.  The bill would take immediate effect if the bill receives the vote of two-thirds the members of each house.  Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2003.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
