FISCAL NOTE, 78TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 11, 2003

TO:
Honorable Robert Puente, Chair, House Committee on Natural Resources

FROM:
John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2665 by Puente (Relating to the creation of a task force to evaluate matters regarding water conservation.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would require the Water Development Board to select members of a task force on water conservation implementation that would be comprised of representatives of several state agencies, interest groups and local governments. The task force would review, evaluate, and recommend optimum levels of water use efficiency and conservation for the state. It is expected that state agencies involved could absorb any costs within their existing budgets.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
