HB2678 by Hartnett (Relating to authorization for a payroll deduction to be made from a county employee's wages or salary.), As Engrossed

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Local Government Code to authorize a commissioners court, on the request of a county employee, to deduct from the employee's wages payment relating to an item not listed specifically in the subsection if the commissioners court determines that the payment serves a public purpose.

The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds in each house; otherwise, it would take effect September 1, 2003.


Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
