No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Election Code to prohibit a city charter in a home-rule city from prescribing requirements relating to the time period for which a candidate may file an application for a place on an election ballot. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives a two-thirds vote in each house; otherwise, it would take effect September 1, 2003.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
