No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure, Article 55 relating to the destruction of records following certain expunctions. The bill would provide for the destruction of certain expunction records on or before the first anniversary date of certain expunction orders. The bill would have immediate effect if the bill receives the vote of two-thirds the members of each house. Otherwise, the bill would take effect September 1, 2003.
